Marie Sarah Larson, 105, of Janesville passed away Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Huntington Place. She was born on October 23, 1908 in Arcadia, WI, the daughter of Dr. Ivan and Nora (Kindschy) Hensel. Her family moved to Waupaca, WI in 1920 and she graduated from Waupaca High school in 1926. Marie was employed for 15 years by First National Bank in Waupaca. She married Gordon E. Larson on February 11, 1937. They moved to Janesville in 1941. She was a life member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter # 69 and served as organist for them for many years. She was a member of Cargill United Methodist Church and sang with the Noteworthy Singers. Marie’s hobbies included wood carving, music ( she played the piano beautifully) and word puzzles. She enjoyed watching the Packers and Brewers games plus PGA golf, especially Steve Stricker. Marie kept a daily diary for the last 40 years and was admired by anyone who met her.
She is survived by her son, Richard (Vickie); granddaughter Angelique (Todd); great-grandchildren, Madeleine and Caden; step grandson: Jeremy; step-great-grandchildren: Tristan, Jordan, Aidan and Devan. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
A private family service of interment will be held at Milton Lawns Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers or a memorial, do a good deed for someone today. Henke-Clarson Funeral Home is assisting the family
